Tracking Activity on our Web Site

As is true with most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically when individuals browse our site and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this non-personal information to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole, in order to improve the functionality of the Web site. We use a third-party tracking service that uses technology to track this non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site in the aggregate.

We use cookies to improve your shopping experience. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your Web browser on your computer’s hard drive. A cookie may contain information (such as a unique user session ID) that is used to track the pages of the Web sites you've visited. The information in cookies helps to serve you better by keeping track of your order when shopping on this site; it also helps us improve site design. We do not store sensitive information, other than your name, in your cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can set your browser to decline cookies. Even if your Web browser is set to decline cookies, you can use many of the features within this site. However, you will not be able to place an order or retrieve your order status.

We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.

We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. All of our email communications include an opt out link. If you would like to opt-out of these emails, please click on the opt–out link.

We partner with a third party ad network to either display advertising on our Web site or to manage our advertising on other sites. Our ad network partner uses cookies and Web beacons to collect non–personally identifiable information about your activities on this and other Web sites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt–out by clicking Here. Please note this does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to receive generic ads.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our home page prior to the change becoming effective.

Periodically, our operations and business practices are reviewed for compliance with corporate policies and procedures governing the confidentiality of information. These reviews are conducted by internal staff who report directly to the Board of Directors of Deluxe Corporation, our parent company, external auditing and accounting firms, and government regulators. Included in these self-assessments and examinations are reviews of the controls and safeguards described in our Privacy Policy.

Security Statement

Protecting Your Transactions

At NEBS Online, we use the latest technology to be sure all transactions are secure. Here are just a few of the ways we protect you and the data you submit to us.

SSL Technology Protects Your Transactions

We use technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) that "encrypts" any data transmitted between you and NEBS as long as the Web Browser you're using also supports SSL. All the most popular Browsers support SSL in recent versions. Encrypted data is much harder to decode than regular data, making it much less attractive to a hacker. Before you actually submit your information to NEBS, your Browser encrypts the data. It remains encrypted during the transmission and then it is decoded by our Web Server when it is received. In order to use SSL, we had to apply for the privilege to conduct Electronic Commerce and go through a strict approval process to obtain a digital certificate. Our digital certificate was issued by an authorized security service after we proved we were a legitimate business. The digital certificate was then installed on our Web Server so that from now on, we can offer you the security of SSL.

How NEBS Online Uses Cookies

Cookies are another place where web application programs can store data submitted to a Web Server. They can be placed either on your computer or the Web Server. At NEBS Online, we create temporary cookies while you are online with us. These cookies make our ordering process possible, and contain only identification information about our customers. We even go the extra step of encrypting the data stored in our cookies. When you disconnect from the Internet, or exit your Browser, NEBS temporary cookies are destroyed.

Other Security Measures on the Internet

Here are some of the other ways you can tell if you're engaged in a secure transaction. For example:

  • Most reputable Websites advertise their security features prominently.
  • A secure URL will begin with https://etc.etc.etc., while a URL of a non-secure Web transaction will begin with http://etc.etc.etc.
  • Many Browsers have visual indicators to let you know that an SSL transaction is in progress. Look for an icon of a whole lock or a key (unlocked locks or broken keys indicate a non-secure environment).
  • Some Browsers use a dialog box to alert you to the fact that you are accessing a secure Web server.
